The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) was established as a regulatory body by the Government of India through Gazette Notification No. SD-17/113/2017-E&PW dated 5th December 2018. It has been fully operational since 1st August 2020. The NCVET serves as an overarching national regulator with the aim of setting standards, developing comprehensive regulations, and improving the vocational education, training, and skilling ecosystem.
LSSSDC is an industry led not for profit organization that awards Vocational Education & Skill Certification for Life Sciences Sector. It is approved awarding body of NCVET under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and is an authorized advisory and monitoring body under MSDE for engaging Industry for Apprenticeship under Apprenticeship Act. It will serve to address skill shortfalls in the Life Sciences Sector in India includes Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology & Contract Research complete involved in Manufacturing and Research of biotechnology driven products & services (like vaccine, Agri-Biotech, Medical Devices & Bio-fuels). Its aim, over a 6 years period, is to map all qualifications (job roles) in the sector, enlist Prospective Vocational Training Organizations, Train & certify competent Trainers and certify approx. 16.5 million skilled workforces in the sector. Currently LSSSDC has developed National Occupational Standards for 70 unique qualifications (job roles) covering 89% of employment of the sector.
Food Industry Capacity & Skill Initiative (FICSI) offers skilling programs leading to certification, placement, capacity building and entrepreneurship focusing on the Food Processing Industry.
FICSI has created a vibrant ecosystem that includes standards, model curriculum and learning resources, a network of affiliated training centers and Vocational Colleges, supported by industry experts master trainers and assessors for providing industry relevant skills. The National Council for Vocational Education & Training (a regulatory body under the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship) has recognized FICSI as an awarding body.
SPEFL-SC is a not-for-profit organization formed by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The council has been promoted by National Skill Development Corporation & Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). The SPEFL-SC fills the gap between the skill ecosystem and industrial demand. SPEFL-SC plays a crucial role in bringing together all the stakeholders, including industry, labour, and academia, to make sure that the industry is equipped with skilled and effective workforce.
Skill Council for Person with Disability has responsibility for skills and workforce development of Persons with Disability. SCPwD gives employers direct influence on training policy and is looking at education and training at all levels. The Key objective of the Council is to create a robust and vibrant ecosystem for quality education and skill development for Persons with Disability in the country.
The Ministry of Textiles is an Indian government national agency responsible for the formulation of policy, planning, development, export promotion and regulation of the textile industry in India.
Construction Skill Development Council of India (CSDCI) has been constituted under the mandate of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) which is one of its own Public Private Partnership Organization in India to promote skill development.
As an apex ‘Sector Skill Council’ for the Construction Industry, operates as an ‘Awarding Body’ under the aegis of National Council for Vocational Education & Training (NCVET), National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MoSDE).
The Government has constituted Prime Minister’s National Council on Skill Development for coordinated action for skill development, both in the domain of public and private sector. The National Council on Skill Development mandates skill formation to develop the workforce with enhanced skill through structured programmed and assessment.
RASCI is a not-for-profit, independent public limited organization established under Section 25 of the Companies Act. We have been funded by the Government of India along with Equity participation from Retailer’s Association of India, Reliance Retail Ltd., Future Retail India Ltd., Shoppers Stop Ltd., Globus Stores (P) Ltd., Trent Ltd., Infiniti Retail Ltd. and Connaught Plaza Restaurant (P) Ltd. to function as the Apex Skill Development Council for the Retail Industry.
